IL-9

Interleukin 9 (HP40, P40) is a pleiotropic cytokine that has effects on both myeloid and lymphoid cells. It is produced by at least 2 subtypes of T helper cells. Th2 cells were the first cell type that was recognized to produce IL-9. Recently Th17 T cells have been found to secrete IL-9. Naïve T cells treated with TGF-β and IL-4 differentiate into the TH9 subtype. IL-9 binds to its cognate receptor IL9R, also known as CD129, which activates the JAK/STAT network. IL-9 is a biomarker for allergen-induced inflammation, extracellular parasites, asthma, and cancer.

Application Areas

IL-9 assays are available for human, NHP, and mouse samples in both single and multiplex formats.
Select these or create a custom multiplex assay including IL-9 with the U-PLEX Assay Designer.

IL-9 Singleplex Products

Our IL-9 immunoassays provide fast, accurate, reproducible, and highly sensitive measurements of IL-9. MSD’s MULTI-ARRAY technology uses simple protocols, requires minimal sample, and quantifies analyte concentration over a wide dynamic range.
