U-PLEX NHP IL-4 Assay Overview
The U-PLEX NHP IL-4 Assay maximizes your flexibility to design an experiment that measures IL-4 alone or multiplexed with MSD U-PLEX assays, your own antibody pairs, or a combination of both. U-PLEX assays demonstrate high sensitivity, excellent precision, and up to 5-logs of linear dynamic range. Plates are read in less than 90 seconds on any MSD instrument, using no complicated fluidics or calibration procedures.
U-PLEX NHP IL-4 Assay Features
- Simple protocol similar to ELISAs, yet uses less sample
- Measures non-human primate (NHP) IL-4 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants
- Create custom multiplexes using a selection of U-PLEX assays, your own antibody pairs or both
Assay Format
- Singleplex – includes MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates
- Multiplex – includes U-PLEX multiplex plates
- Both formats use the same assay components for efficient transfer between single- and multiplex configurations.
IL-4 Analyte
Description - IL-4, also known as B-cell stimulatory factor 1 (BSF-1) and lymphocyte stimulatory factor 1, is a glycosylated 17.5 kDa protein with three intra-chain disulfide bonds. It is produced by TH2 cells and participates in activation of B-cells and other cell types. IL-4 decreases the production of TH1 cells, macrophages, IFN-γ, and IL-12. IL-4 also stimulates DNA synthesis and enhances the expression of IgE and IgG1.
Disease Focus - Severe asthma atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, COPD, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune and fibrotic disease.
