U-PLEX NHP IL-1α Assay

U-PLEX NHP IL-1α Assay Overview
The U-PLEX NHP IL-1α Assay maximizes your flexibility to design an experiment that measures IL-1α alone or multiplexed with MSD U-PLEX assays, your own antibody pairs, or a combination of both. U-PLEX assays demonstrate high sensitivity, excellent precision, and up to 5-logs of linear dynamic range. Plates are read in less than 90 seconds on any MSD instrument, using no complicated fluidics or calibration procedures.

U-PLEX NHP IL-1α Assay Features
  • Simple protocol similar to ELISAs, yet uses less sample
  • Measures non-human primate (NHP) IL-1α in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants
  • Create custom multiplexes using a selection of U-PLEX assays, your own antibody pairs or both

Assay Format
  • Singleplex – includes MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates
  • Multiplex – includes U-PLEX multiplex plates
  • Both formats use the same assay components for efficient transfer between single- and multiplex configurations.

IL-1α Analyte
Description - IL-1α (also known as IL-1F1) is produced by activated macrophages and is an endogenous pyrogen. In conjunction with IL-1β, it stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release. IL-1α has multiple receptors. IL-1α, along with IL-1β, binds directly to IL-1RI, which is then associated with IL-1R accessory protein (IL-1RAcP) to form a high affinity receptor complex for signal transduction. IL-1RII has high affinity for IL-1α, but it is a negative regulator of IL-1α activity.

Disease Focus - Cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related hemorrhage, periodontal disease, and silicosis.
