MIP-1β Analyte

Description - Mouse macrophage inflammatory protein 1β (CCL4, ACT2, G-26, LAG1, SCYA4, MIP1B1; Gene ID: 20303) is produced by macrophages that have been stimulated by bacterial endotoxin. MIP-1β binds to the CCR5 receptor, which it shares with MIP-1α, RANTES, and CCL3L1. MIP-1β is one of the major HIV suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T cells. It down-modulates the expression of CCR5 and thus inhibits the CCR5-mediated entry of HIV-1 into T cells. MIP-1β occurs as a homodimer and has been reported to form heterodimers with MIP-1α.
