How many samples can I run on a plate?

MSD assays are provided in convenient 96- or 384-well microtiter plates. The number of samples that can be run on a plate depends on the number of calibrator standard points, controls, and replicates used. For most assay kits, MSD recommends the preparation of an 8-point standard curve consisting of at least 2 replicates of each point (7 calibrator standards and a zero calibrator blank). With this format, 80 samples may be tested in singlicates, assuming no wells are being used for control analysis. If samples are analyzed in duplicates, then 40 samples can be tested on a plate.
