Pentraxin 3

Pentraxin-3 (PTX3, TSG-14, TNF-Inducible Gene 14 protein, TNFAIP5) is a secreted glycoprotein that is induced by inflammatory cytokines and can serve as a marker of induced immune response in humans. Pentraxin-3 is produced by several cell types including endothelial cells, mesenchymal cells, and phagocytes. It is involved in regulating inflammation and may also play a role in angiogenesis.
