Endoglin

Endoglin (CD105, END, HHT1, ORW1, ENG) is a type I integral transmembrane glycoprotein, is a cross-linked homodimer, and is an accessory receptor for TGF-β superfamily ligands. Endoglin is highly expressed on vascular endothelial cells, chondrocytes, and syncytiotrophoblasts of term placenta. It is also found on activated monocytes, mesenchymal stem cells, and leukemic cells of lymphoid and myeloid lineages. A soluble form can be generated by MMP-14 cleavage of the extracellular domain. Endoglin is involved in the regulation of angiogenesis and vascular remodeling.
