4E-BP1

The eukaryotic initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) binding protein 1 (4E-BP1), also known as phosphorylated heat-and-acid-stable protein regulated by insulin 1 (PHAS1), is a translational repressor protein that plays a critical role in the control of protein synthesis, survival, and cell growth. Phosphorylated 4E-BP1 expression in breast, ovary, and prostate tumors has been shown to be associated with tumor growth and malignant progression.
