V-PLEX NHP IL-12/IL-23p40 Kit


Interleukin-12/interleukin 23 p40 (IL-12/IL-23p40)—also known as IL-12B, cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor 40 kDa subunit (CLMF p40), and NK cell stimulatory factor chain 2 (NKSF2)—is a glycosylated protein with five internal disulfide bonds. This cytokine can form heterodimers by binding to the IL-12A subunit or the IL-23 p19 subunit to form IL-12 and IL-23, respectively. It can also dimerize with itself to form the p80 homodimer. It acts as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells and stimulates NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells and IFN-γ production. IL-12/IL-23 p40 binds to IL-12Rβ1 which is part of both IL-12 and IL-23 receptor complexes. It is involved in Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease (MSMD) and psoriasis type 11. The NHP IL-12/IL-23p40 Kit provides assay-specific components for the quantitative determination of endogenous IL-12/IL-23p40 in non-human primate urine, serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
