Description - NHP YKL-40 (CHI3L1, CGP-39; Gene ID: 703401) is a glycoprotein expressed by chondrocytes, synovial cells, many immune cells, and some cancer cells. It enhances cell adhesion by binding to heparins and chitin. YKL-40 is elevated in many autoimmune disorders including arthritis, COPD, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, and many cancers.

Disease Focus/Application Area - Cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and tissue remodeling.
