MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume. MIP-1α (CCL3), also known as G0/G1 switch regulatory protein 19-1 (G0S19-1), PAT464.1, SIS-beta, small-inducible cytokine A3 (SCYA3), and tonsillar lymphocyte LD78 alpha protein, is a 10.1 kDa chemokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. It binds to CCR1, CCR4, and CCR5, and like MIP-1β, it is one of the major HIV suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. It occurs as a homodimer and as a heterodimer with MIP-1β. MIP-1α is involved in multiple myeloma, breast cancer, and cystic fibrosis. The U-PLEX NHP MIP-1α Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant MIP-1α in Cynomolgus monkey and Rhesus monkey serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
