MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume. Interleukin-8 (IL-8), also known as C-X-C motif chemokine 8 (CXCL8), granulocyte chemotactic protein 1 (GCP-1), monocyte-derived neutrophil chemotactic factor (MDNCF), monocyte-derived neutrophil-activating peptide (MONAP), neutrophil-activating protein 1 (NAP-1), protein 3-10C, and T-cell chemotactic factor, is an 11.1 kDa CXC chemokine. It is expressed by several cell types as a response to inflammation. It attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells but not monocytes and is also involved in neutrophil activation. There are several N-terminal processed forms of this protein with varying activity resulting from proteolytic cleavage upon secretion. This proinflammatory chemokine is associated with numerous disorders including acute pancreatitis. The U-PLEX NHP IL-8 Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant IL-8 in Cynomolgus monkey and Rhesus monkey serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
