MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume. Granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF), also known as colony-stimulating factor (CSF), is a glycosylated, 16.3 kDa protein with two internal disulfide bonds. It is involved in the stimulation of growth and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells in response to inflammatory stimuli. It is also involved in dendritic cell differentiation, negative regulation of apoptotic processes, and positive regulation of IL-23 production and tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT5 protein. GM-CSF has been shown to reduce chemotherapy-induced neutropenia in different types of cancers. It is involved in a number of disorders including autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The U-PLEX NHP GM-CSF Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant GM-CSF in Cynomolgus monkey and Rhesus monkey serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
