MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume.
Human interleukin-17A (IL-17A), also known as cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 8 (CTLA-8), is a glycosylated 17.5 kDa homodimer protein with two disulfide bonds. It induces stromal cells to produce proinflammatory and hematopoietic cytokines, and it enhances the surface expression of Intracellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1) in fibroblasts. IL-17F, and IL-17A/IL-17F hetereodimer consists of IL-17RA and IL-17RC. IL-17A is involved in human rhinovirus infection and Sjogren’s syndrome. The U-PLEX Human IL-17A Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant IL-17A in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
