U-PLEX Human IL-12/IL-23p40 Assay


MSD offers a range of individual assays utilizing U-PLEX Antibody Sets that provide a rapid and convenient method for measuring biomarkers in complex matrices. The individual assays are offered on MSD GOLD Small Spot Streptavidin Plates and use the same antibody sets and diluents as the U-PLEX multiplex assays. This allows for efficient transfer between the individual assay and a higher throughput multiplex configuration. Typical of assays developed on the MSD platform, the individual assays have high sensitivity, excellent precision, provide up to five-logs of linear dynamic range, and require minimal sample volume. Human Interleukin-12p40/interleukin 23p40 , also known as IL-12B, cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor 40 kDa subunit (CLMF p40), and NK cell stimulatory factor chain 2 (NKSF2), is a glycosylated 37.2 kDa protein with five internal disulfide bonds. This cytokine can form heterodimers by binding to the IL-12A subunit or the IL-23p19 subunit to form IL-12 and IL-23, respectively. It can also dimerize with itself to form the p80 homodimer. It acts as a growth factor for activated T and NK cells and stimulates NK/lymphokine-activated killer cells and IFN-γ production. IL-12/IL-23p40 binds to IL-12Rβ1 which is part of both IL-12 and IL-23 receptor complexes. The U-PLEX Human IL-12/IL-23p40 Assay provides the components for the quantitative determination of both natural and recombinant IL-12/IL-23p40 in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.

Note - IL-12p70 and IL-23 contain the p40 protein and will be detected in the IL-12/IL-23p40 assay.
