OX40

OX40 (TNFRSF4, ACT35, CD134, OX40 receptor) is an immune checkpoint receptor that is expressed by T cells including cytotoxic T cells and regulatory T cells (Treg) 1-3 days after T-cell activation. Binding of the OX40 ligand (OX40L) to the OX40 receptor on cytotoxic T cells it promotes replication and survival. When OX40L binds to OX40 on Tregs it enhances T-cell activation by muting the effects of the Tregs thereby reducing the suppression of cytotoxic T-cell activity. OX40L is similarly only expressed after T-cell activation.
