Growth regulated α protein (CXCL1, GRO-1, MGSA, SCYB1, NAP-3) is a chemokine that binds to the CXCR2 receptor (as does GRO-β and GRO-γ), and is chemoattractant to neutrophils. It is oncogenic to melanocytes and other tumors, and hence has also been known as melanoma growth stimulating activity. GRO-α has antimicrobial activity and is expressed by monocytes, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to proinflammatory stimuli. Aberrant expression of GRO-α is associated with melanoma and is a target for angiogenesis.

Application Areas

GRO-α assays are available for human and NHP samples in both single and multiplex formats.
Select these or create a custom multiplex assay including GRO-α with the U-PLEX Assay Designer.

GRO-α Singleplex Products

Our GRO-α immunoassays provide fast, accurate, reproducible, and highly sensitive measurements of GRO-α. MSD’s MULTI-ARRAY technology uses simple protocols, requires minimal sample, and quantifies analyte concentration over a wide dynamic range.
