U-PLEX Human EPO Assay

U-PLEX Human EPO Assay Overview
The U-PLEX Human EPO Assay maximizes your flexibility to design an experiment that measures EPO (erythropoietin) alone or multiplexed with other MSD U-PLEX assays, your own antibody pairs, or a combination of both. This assay accurately quantitates native and recombinant human EPO in multiple sample types. To learn more about the advantages of U-PLEX assays click here.

Description - Human erythropoietin (MVCD2; epoetin; Gene ID: 2056) is the major factor that regulates red cell production (erythropoiesis). It is a glycoprotein produced by the liver in the fetal and perinatal period and primarily by the kidney in adults. It has been produced via recombinant technologies with differing glycosylation profiles and used as a therapeutic for anemias. EPO has also been used illicitly as an athletic performance enhancer.

Disease Focus/Application Area - Various anemias, including those induced by chemotherapy.
